Europe Day 2025 – Celebrating Youth, Democracy & Sustainability

In a vibrant hybrid event celebrating Europe Day 2025, One Terrene International Group successfully brought together youth, educators, policymakers, and civil society in a celebration titled: "We Celebrate Europe with Democracy & Sustainability".

The event, held on May 9th at 11:00 (both in-person and online), showcased how two innovative European projects -EU HAVE A DREAM and SCAFFOLD - empower young people to be agents of change across Europe.

🔹 Workshop Highlights

• The day began with a theatrical and participatory workshop inspired by the CERV-funded project EU HAVE A DREAM, where youth engaged in a creative political simulation, forming the “manifesto” of an imagined young candidate named Charis Dima. Dreams for a more democratic, just, and sustainable Europe were brought to life on stage.
• This was followed by an interactive session based on the Erasmus+ project SCAFFOLD, which promotes green skills and digital competences for youth and youth workers. Through games and discussion, participants explored the concept of sustainability and how they can become “Sustainability Champions” in their local communities.

🔹 Why it Mattered
This unique blend of art, digital education, and civic dialogue provided a space for young voices to shape Europe’s future. Both workshops inspired critical reflection on environmental justice, active citizenship, and how creativity fuels democratic participation. Attendees were invited to engage with real tools, like the SCAFFOLD simulation game and the EU HAVE A DREAM dreambook.

🔹 From Cyprus to Europe
This event is part of a wider effort across Europe to promote active citizenship, especially among young people from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds. It serves as a reminder that celebrating Europe also means listening to its youth.
